O Brasil tem um encontro marcado com o caos. No dia 1º de junho começa o plano de racionamento de energia. Primeiro serão atingidos os Estados do Sudeste, do Centro-Oeste e do Nordeste. Depois, a partir de agosto, podem entrar no apagão os Estados do Norte e do Sul. Plano de racionamento foi a expressão elegante que o governo encontrou para referir-se a um blecaute que vai apagar as cidades brasileiras por três, quatro ou cinco horas - todos os dias. As pessoas sabem como é desagradável enfrentar um apagão de horas. Alguns até ja' passaram por isso durante dias seguidos. Mas imagine o que significa ter a energia cortada nesse patamar durante seis meses, no mínimo. Só países em guerra em geral passaram por algo parecido.
As razões do colapso...
O modelo brasileor é baseado quase que exclusivamente em hidrelétricas, que produzem 97% da energia consumida no país. Sem chuva, entra em colapso.
Até 1989, investiam-se mais de 20 bilhões de reais por ano no setor energético. Nos últimos anos, esse valor caiu para 8 bi.
O processo de privatização foi feito de forma estabanada. Não se exigiu que as concessionárias gerassem energia nova, o que aumentou a defasagem entre produção e consumo.
Embora o estado mantenha sob seu controle 80% da geração e 30% da distribuição, a equipe econômica proibiu as estatais de energia de fazer investimentos.
Houve atraso na licitação de novas usinas.
O governo criou um programa de termelétricas que previa a construção de 49 usinas, mas apenas nove ficarão prontas no prazo.
